Last Day of School 2013

Today was Dillon's last day of school for the year 2012-2013

This year has brought a lot of changes for Dillon.  Entering into 1st grade, eating lunch at school, but the biggest change was the move from Longview Elementary in  Murray were he got to ride a bus to Northlake Elementary in Toole were he either gets a ride to and from school or he walks with the other kids. (we are 1.25 miles from the school so it is a little bit of a walk)

Dillon seemed to really excel and start to do really well after we moved, so in a lot of ways seeing him do the things he has done because of the move has been very worth it!  He is excelling in math.  Speech, reading and spelling are still the area's we have to work on the most.

All three of the 1st grade classes put on a program for us today and then we got to take our kids home.  It was a very patriot program.  It was neat to watch him singing, even though some of the songs were a very fast pace song, he did so well!

Dillon we are so proud of you and we hope that this next year is even better for you!
We love you!

The 1st grade program

Dillon and Mrs. Willis his 1st grade teacher.  He even helped me make a gift to give her for her new baby that is due soon.

Dillon worked hard and earned this scooter.  He was so excited as his bike is still not ride able for him to ride.  Also most of the kids in the neighborhood have scooters because of all the little weeds in our area that cause flat tires.  He had so much fun on it today!

1st Day of School

Well I am behind getting this posted.

The kids started school the end of Aug and beginning of Sept.

At the end of the year last year we found out we belonged in another school district then were we thought we belonged.

So far we are loving our new classes and are enjoying the teachers.  The kids walk across the bridge to Red Robin's to catch their bus.  Dillon and Jennilyn love going to school together.

End of May Activities

In May the school district had a district wide sports day.  Dillon who had 1/2 day kindergarten got to go to school all day and participate.  He even got a school sack lunch for the day.  He was so excited to show me his ribbon's when he got home!

We bought Pass of All Passes to Seven Peaks owned places.  This allows us the fun of bowling, bumper cars, laser tagging, miniature golf, and also going swimming at Seven Peaks Water Park.

The water park opened Memorial Day Weekend.  We decided since Dan was off on Monday we would go.  It wasn't too crowded and we had a great time!

A random picture that was on my camra of the girls all asleep on the couch.  Dillon saw me taking the picture and he smiled for it!

Another Kindergartner

On Friday we registered Jennilyn for Kindergarten!  While the parents meet with the principal, the future kindergartner's went with some of the teachers and had some fun and came back with this picture!

We are excited that we will have both Dillon and Jennilyn in school next year.  Jennilyn will be in an all day kindergarten class and she is very excited about it.  She did not like getting her kindergarten shots a few weeks ago.  :)

A New Chapter in Our Lives

I am starting a new chapter in my life today!  It is called "Sending Kids to School"!
We have been in the small child chapter with 4 little ones so close together in age, and now we are starting to send them off to school!

Three Months ago Dillon graduated from Preschool.  Today my sweet little boy will start Kindergarten.  The years seem to have flown from the time he was born.

Last night Dan gave Dillon a Father's Blessing in preparation for the coming school year.
What a wonderful spirit we had in the home after this was given.

Dillon I hope you make lots of new friends and have a great school year!

Go Class of 2024!

Slice of Life # 15~ School Daze

This weeks Slice of Life prompt is about school.  My oldest starts his 2nd year of Preschool tomorrow.  And the School District still hasn't called to tell me what time they are picking him up.  But that is not my story.  I have a memory that I am pretty proud of in high school.

I was a sophomore in high school and I was in a world history class.  I don't remember who my teacher was, but it was a male teacher.  We had a history torment for a mid-term review in prep for the mid term.  The class was divided into two groups and then we each took turns answering the questions.  I had studied hard, but I tend to forget things when I am under pressure and being put on the spot.  I made it to the 2nd round and then for the final round I was the last one left in my group.  I ended up beating the other team with the winning question being answered. For my prize I got an A on the mid term and I got to play hooky during class the next day while the class was taking the mid term.  I have always been pretty proud of the Title of History Queen that my teacher gave me.  And you held the title until the end of the school year.   Until next week!

Feel free to join us or read others at Slice of life.

First Day On The Bus!

Today was Dillon's first day to ride the bus to school.  The twins were down for a nap so Jennilyn and I walked Dillon out to meet the bus with two other little boys in our complex.  Jennilyn went to climb on the bus with Dillon and was so mad that I wouldn't let her go, she screamed and screamed, as the bus drove away she was screaming "Dillon, Dillon, Dillon"  It took her a little while to calm down and when she did she said " I stop crying Mommy!"  She is a sweetheart!  When Dillon came home, I had the girls already loaded in the van to go to an appointment and Dillon didn't want to get off the bus, and he screamed about it most of the way to the appointment.  When we got there he was asleep and of course I had to wake him up.  I know that as he gets use to riding the bus that he will get better at getting off without any problem, I know it has happend with other things that as he sees that he will be doing it on a regular basis that he stops throughing the fits.  But all is well so far here in Utah!

Until next time!

Started Preschool

Boy my little boy is growing up!  Today he started preschool for the first time, I know school has been in session for a while, but we found out we were moving a week before school started and we decided that we didn't want to start him and then uproot him 3 weeks later since he dosen't deal with change very well.  But he did alright today, and starting on Monday he will ride the bus to school.  He only goes twice a week for two hrs, but it will probably be about three hrs that he is gone with the bus ride to and from.  I am excited and today when I opend his backpack, there was a note about school pictures coming up on Nov 4th.  I had thought we had miss that, but I guess not, so now I get to get his first school pictures taken too!  Boy is he growing up on me, now if I could just get him to potty trained!
